4-time reigning UA MVP, Delle SS Mario Olivo, was back to his old tricks again, taking home Player of the Week for Week 8.
Olivo went 10-for-20 this week with 3 HRs, 6 RBI, and 7 runs scored. He is third in the UA with a .371 average this season.
His Delle Stars are in first place in the UA’s A Division as they chase their fifth straight Windsor Cup championship.

The 8th UA All-Star game is coming up in Week 10! The game will be held at Craterview Park in Platte. The future of the All-Star contest is uncertain, as many fans have expressed displeasure at the change from an East vs. West format last season. The league has not yet announced details of the All-Star Game for next season, leading to speculation that the UA may change or eliminate it. Fan voting is currently underway across Uplantica for this year’s All-Star rosters!

The Redwood Owls continued their run as the UA’s top team with a 32-14 record as Week 8 began.
The Petchon Carp led the Carver Canaries by 3 games in the NPL pennant race coming into this week. In August, the top two NPL teams will play for the National Cup and promotion to the UA for next season.

Tuesday, 7/23/1935
- Chargers righty Mark Lia Yorino was locked in, allowing just 2 hits in 7.1 scoreless innings and racking up 11 Ks in Taawa’s 5-1 win at Tiny Sea.
- Deerborn starter Juan Kwacha notched 12 strikeouts, allowing 2 runs on 2 hits in a 7-inning no-decision. The White Sox went on to beat the Miners, 4-2.
- Delle CF King Jackson was just a home run away from hitting for the cycle, going 4-for-4 and scoring 3 runs, but the Stags rallied to walk off in the 9th, winning 8-7. Roland starter Mike Collignon left in the 4th inning with a triceps strain. He is not currently on the IL, but could be affected for up to a month going forward.
- Redwood CF Bruce Willard hit 2 HRs for all 5 team RBI as the Owls beat the Rivals at home, 5-1.
Wednesday, 7/24/1935
- Taawa starter Jim Lavine allowed just 1 run on 1 hit and struck out 10 over 5.1 innings as the Chargers won in Tiny Sea, 6-4.
- Blazers pitcher Sonny Martineau struck out 9 with 3 hits and 1 run allowed over 6.2 innings. He even helped himself out with a 2-run homer, lifting Prissley over Platte, 5-4.
- Reapers RHP Justin Antoine went 7 innings and allowed 1 run on 2 hits as Plains City beat Wight at home, 3-2.
- White Sox 1B Lee Gutierrekaz hit 2 homers for 4 RBI on a 3-for-4 day. Deerborn walked off on a 2-run blast from CF Miguel Lia Suunu. Final: DEE 7, LK 6.
- Salvation starter Tony Lia Taawa pitched 8 scoreless innings with just 3 hits allowed and fanned 11 Miners batters. Salvation took the win in Lia Puedris, 4-0.
Thursday, 7/25/1935
- Chargers reliever Johnny Williams will miss the rest of the year with a torn rotator cuff. Taawa rallied to beat Tiny Sea, 6-4, sweeping the series.
- Platte starter Eugene Kiteoko put on a clinic in Prissley, allowing just 1 hit and no runs and striking out 7 with zero walks over 8 IP. The Bears blanked the Trail Blazers, 2-0.
- Redwood SP Craig Ogg fanned 11 batters and allowed 1 run on 5 hits and zero walks over 7 innings in the Owls’ 2-1 home win over Railey.
- A scary moment in Plains City, as Reapers 2B Felipe Tolduoso was hit in the head by a pitch and briefly knocked unconscious. Tolduoso regained consciousness after about half a minute and has been diagnosed with a severe concussion. “I’m just glad the league started requiring helmets,” said Spiders pitcher Fares Merlin. “I was just sick with worry while Felipe was down. Things could have been a lot worse.” Tolduoso will likely miss a month or more but is expected to make a full recovery and return to the team. Plains City beat the Spiders at home, 3-1.
Friday, 7/26/1935
- Bears fans received bad news today, as 5-time All-Star C Eloi Rousset further aggravated his torn hamstring during what was supposed to be a light recovery workout and will require surgery. His season is likely over, but he has not been ruled out for a late-season return.
- Roland lefty Greg Crepin went 6 innings with 1 hit, 3 walks, and 9 Ks. The Stags shut out the Rivals, 4-0. Railey starter Pedro Rivera left after just 4 pitches with an abdominal strain and is questionable for his next start.
- Spiders 1B Ryad Renaud tied the league record with 2 triples, but the Kings won in Wight, 9-7.
- In a marquee matchup between the UA’s top two teams, the Stars walloped the Chargers in Delle, 15-4. Delle CF King Jackson was 3-for-5 with a 3-run shot and 6 total RBI in the rout. MVP SS Mairo Olivo was 2-for-2 and drew 3 walks, also hitting a 3-run home run. Delle’s SP Francisco Lia Taawa left in the 3rd inning with a forearm strain. He is not on the IL, but is highly questionable for his next start.
Saturday, 7/27/1935
- Deerborn’s 1931 Pitcher of the Year Mathew Huertata pitched 8 innings with 10 Ks and no runs on just 2 hits and 2 walks. However, the Herders walked off in Cherricaw on an RBI single from the league’s top hitter, Willie Eatmon. Final (10): CHE 1, DEE 0. Cherricaw SS Randy Morris received a 4-game suspension after a heated argument on a strike call with the homeplate ump in the 8th inning.
- Reapers 2B Bob Cadiou hit 2 solo homers, but the visiting Trail Blazers took the win, 9-6.
- Chargers CF Jesus Vazquiza went 3-for-5 with a grand slam as Taawa bounced back from yesterday’s blowout with an 8-run 9th innings for a 9-2 win at Delle.
- Owls 2B Hunter Phillips hit 2 HRs for 3 RBI, but the Bears took a narrow 6-5 win in Platte.
- Rivals 1B Gabriel Martinezto went 3-for-4 with a double and a 3-run homer for 4 total RBI as Railey stomped Roland, 11-3.
Sunday, 7/28/1935
- White Sox starter Juan Kwacha pitched well again, going 7.1 scoreless innings with 4 hits, 2 walks, and 6 Ks. Deerborn shut out Cherricaw on the road, 2-0.
- Rivals lefty ace Howard Ferguson fanned 7 and walked 1 over 5 hitless innings. Railey beat Roland, 3-1.
- Redwood starter Felipe Katakien allowed 1 run on 4 hits and 2 walks in 8 IP and struck out 11 in a pitcher’s duel with Platte’s Travis Voelker. Katakien took the win as the Owls beat the Bears, 3-1. Redwood has the UA’s best record at 36-16, 9 games in front of Salvation in C Division.
- Reapers 24-year old starter Sem Ogg pitcher 6.1 scoreless innings with 4 hits, 3 walks, and 6 Ks. Plains City All-Star 1B Vance Adegoke suffered an oblique strain while running the bases and will likely miss the next few games. The Reapers beat the Trail Blazers, 3-2.
- Chargers OF Jose Rios hit 2 solo HRs on a 3-for-5 day. Taawa went on to take the rubber match in Delle, 7-6. Both teams lead their divisions as the week come to a close.

- Canaries 3B Antonio Vakalle hit a 3-run homer and 2 doubles, going 4-for-5 in Carver’s big 14-5 win at Green Rock.
- Ropers starter Arturo Kolon threw 7 1-hit innings with 6 Ks and 2 walks. Gallstone shut out Lia Puedris, 7-0.
Wednesday, 7/24/1935
- Mystics All-Star lefty Wiley Ellysian went 7 innings with just 1 hit allowed, 1 walk, and 6 Ks, but left with a sore ankle. He expects to make his start. Kontekia beat Elderwood, 8-1.
Thursday, 7/25/1935
- Carver RF Aime Bellec hit 2 HRs for 4 RBI as the Canaries beat the Dragons, 7-4.
- Gallstone C Todd James hit 2 HRs for 4 RBI in the Ropers’ 5-1 win at Lia Puedris.
- Lakers C Aurelio Romanota hit a grand slam and had 5 total RBI in Elderwood’s 5-1 win at Kontekia.

- Petchon LF Allen Hendrix went 4-for-4 with a 3-run home run and 4 total RBI as the Carp stomped the Blue Sox, 10-1.
- Captains RF Don Frazier went 5-for-5 with 2 doubles and an RBI, scoring twice in Riverside’s 6-1 win over Green Rock.
Sunday, 7/28/1935
- Trimble LF Robin Lia Tintos hit 2 solo bombs in the Topper’s 10-0 victory in Farport.
- With 18 games left in the season Carp LF Allen Hendrix has his sights set on a triple crown, leading the NPL with a .326 AVG, 19 HRs, and 48 RBI. Petchon leads the Canaries for first place by 5 games.
