All-Star 1B Ryad Renaud of the B Division’s first-place Wight Spiders was UA Player of the Week for Week 13.
Renaud hit .400 this week with 5 HR and 10 RBI. He is hitting .309 on the season, with 20 HR, 49 runs scored, and 57 RBI.
Despite a losing record, the Spiders lead B Division by 2 games over the Guardians and Miners.

August’s UA Pitcher and Batter of the Month Awards have been granted and the red-hot Prissley Trail Blazers were represented by both winners!
As we entered the week…
The Prissley Trail Blazers were the hottest team in baseball coming into Week 13. They had won 13 of their last 14 games, and were tied with the Delle Stars for first place in A Division.
The Redwood Owls continued to hold first place in C Division and the UA’s top record at 48-26, but the Deerborn White Sox were hot on their trail, leading D Division with a 45-29 record.
This Wednesday, August 28, was the UA trade deadline, which saw some last-minute moves as contenders looked to shore up their rosters for the playoff push.

Monday, 8/26/1935
- White Sox ace Mathew Huertata left the game after the 1st inning with an abdominal strain. He is listed as day-to-day. The Rivals won the game in Deerborn, 8-3.
- Trail Blazers starter Marcos Osayaba struck out 10 Metros batters and allowed just 1 run on 3 hits and 1 walk in a no-decision. Prissley won in the bottom of the 11th on a walk-off solo shot by LF Hedi Kieffer.
- Chargers RHP Mark Lia Yorino allowed 1 run on just 3 hits and 2 walks, striking out 4. Taawa beat Cherricaw at home, 7-4
- Owls C Alfonso Lia Suunu will miss the rest of the season after a collision at second base in tonight’s game. Spiders starter Tim Coffman allowed only 1 hit over 6.1 scoreless innings. Wight beat Redwood on the road, 7-2.
- Reapers RF Jose Gomez is likely to miss the rest of the season after suffering a herniated disc while throwing the ball today. Plains City lost in Lia Puedris, 3-2.
Tuesday, 8/27/1935
- The Trail Blazers stayed hot, with 1B Bob Hove hitting his league-leading 25th HR. Final: PRI 8, TS 5.
- White Sox starter Edward Murray pitched 7 scoreless, 2-hit innings, with zero walks and 6 Ks. Deerborn defeated Railey at home, 2-0.
- Roland righty Noa Dutertre went 8 innings with no runs, no walks, and 5 hits allowed. He struck out 9 batters and got the win as the Stags beat the Brothers, 3-0.
- Miners RF Jorge Aguilar stayed hot, homering in his third straight game. He’s hit 5 HR in his last 5 games. His 3-run blast today helped Lia Kompos overcome Delle at home, 11-3.
- Platte starter Eugene Kiteoko threw 6 innings with zero runs and 3 hits allowed, issuing zero walks and 6 Ks. The Bears beat the Guardians, 1-0, on a solo homer by SS Chris Neal.
- Taawa starter Nelson Sotio allowed just 1 hit and zero runs, striking out 7 and walking 2 over 6 IP. The Chargers beat the Herders, 5-1.
- Owls RF Paul Blount was a triple away from the cycle, going 3-for-4 with a 3-run HR and a double. He scored 3 runs. Redwood beat Wight, 11-3.
Wednesday, 8/28/1935
- The Taawa Chargers acquired 37-year old 1B Chuck Parker from the Metros in exchange for two young infield prospects. Parker is hitting .288 with 6 HR and 13 RBI this season. The Chargers are currently holding the first wild card spot in the standings.
- The Metros have moved another player in exchange for prospects. Tiny Sea sent RHP Julio Lia Undun to the Lia Puedris Kings, who are currently 4 games out of a playoff spot with 24 games to go this season. Lia Undun has appeared in 23 games as a reliever, with 68 Ks, 28 walks, and a 4.17 ERA in 69 IP.
- Redwood starter Felipe Katakien’s great season continued with an 8-inning, 9K performance. He allowed 2 runs on 5 hits as the Owls beat the Trail Blazers, 8-2. Katakien is near the top of the league with a 2.19 ERA this season.
- Spiders 1B Ryad Renaud hit 2 HRs for 4 RBI as Wight came back to win in Roland, 7-6.
- Kings LF John Bunce went off at the plate with a double and 2 HR for 5 RBI in Lia Puedris’ 9-6 win at Tiny Sea. Kings 2B Bob White hit 2 triples in the win.
- Salvation closer Tony Rodier suffered and oblique strain and is expected to miss around a week. He has 11 saves this season. The Brothers lost to the Chargers in 11 innings, 9-7.
- Bears RF Michael Moore went 3-for-3 with a HR and a triple for 4 total RBI. Platte beat Deerborn at home, 8-2.
Thursday, 8/29/1935
- Kings starter Tony Konzalez struck out 8 and allowed just 2 hits and 1 walk over 5.1 scoreless innings, taking the win in Lia Puedris’ 5-2 victory at Tiny Sea.
- Rivals pitcher Fred Lia Itoldino was brilliant over 8 innings, allowing 1 run on just 2 hits, walking 2 and striking out 9. Railey beat Lia Kompos, 6-1.
- Brothers starter Tom Lia Morro struck out 10 Chargers batters and walked 1, allowing 1 run on 3 hits over 7.1 innings. Salvation won at home, 6-1.
Friday, 8/30/1935
- Platte 1B Tim Rogers hit 2 HRs on a 3-for-5, 5-RBI day as the Bears beat the White Sox, 7-5. Platte LF Stan Davis went 3-for-4 with a double and a 2-run bomb in the win.
Saturday, 8/31/1935
- Plains City pitcher Justin Antoine has announced that he will retire at the end of this season. He joked that he would be focusing on the next phase of his life and would either be “circumnavigating the planet” or “running for the national senate.” Antoine helped lead the Reapers to NPL Championships in 1932 and 1933.
- RHP Jamie Ruiz pitched 5.1 perfect innings with 5 Ks to finish the game, but Delle couldn’t overcome a 3-run first inning by Salvation. Final: SAL 3, DEL 2.
- RHP Julio Lia Undun started his first game as a King, and threw 5.1 innings with 1 run allowed on just 3 hits. He walked zero and struck out 6. Lia Puedris beat Northsouth on the road, 6-1.
- Deerborn CF Miguel Lia Suunu hit a double and a HR for 3 total RBI as the WHite Sox beat the Reapers handily 11-1.
- Owls RHP Will Shufflebottom struck out 9 batters over 8 IP in a no-decision. Redwood went on to win on a walk-off double from Fouad Lefevre. Final: RW, 3, TS 2.
- Miners 2B Edward Holbrook hit a double and a HR for 4 total RBI as the Miners edged the Bears in Lia Kompos, 5-4.
Sunday, 9/1/1935
- Kings SS Francisco Ratamos hit 2 homers for 3 RBI, but the Guardians won in Northsouth, 4-3.
- White Sox reliever Armando Rokodriguez shone in a spot start, allowing 1 run on just 3 hits with 6 Ks and zero walks over 7 innings. Deerborn beat Plains City at home, 2-1.
- Brothers SS Colin Sell had a great 4-for-5 day with a HR and a double for 3 total RBI. Salvation won in Delle, 8-1.
- Chargers SS John Proper hit his 16th and 17th home runs of the year going 2-for-4 with 4 RBI. Taawa beat Wight, 10-9 on a walk-off single by RF Tony Katakien.
- Owls starter Mike Gurr went 7.1 scoreless innings, allowing no runs on just 2 hits. He walked 2 and struck out 9. Redwood beat Tiny Sea at home, 6-0.
- The Stags won a 4-hour-48-minute contest in the bottom of the 13th on a bases loaded walk-off walk of SS Hector Holman by Blazers RHP Formo Gurr. Final (13): ROL 3, PRI 2.
- Platte RHP Eugene Kiteoko had another great start. This time he was an out away from a complete game, but left in the 9th after throwing 124 pitches. He allowed 1 run on 7 hits with a walk and 8 strike outs. 5-time All-Star 3B Gavin Jones was hit in the elbow by a pitch and will be day-to-day while it heals.
