Monday, 6/12/1933

  • 4-time All-Star RH SP Jaime Ruiz has signed a 2-year contract extension with the Northsouth Guardians, worth $2.64 million per year. The extension will keep him in Northsouth through 1935.
  • Stars RF Antonio Teakowa took a fastball to the knee today. He left the game, but has not been put on the IL. The Stars beat the Trail Blazers, 4-2.
  • Platte Bears SP Craig Ogg struck out 13 Owls batters over 8 innings of work. 3B Juan Tokorres hit 2 HR in the game. Platte beat Redwood, 7-1.
  • Deerborn SP Jorge Takato went the distance against the lowly Taawa Chargers today. In 9 innings, he struck out 9 and allowed just 1 hit. It is Takato’s first career 1-hitter. Final: DEE 6, TAA 0.
  • Railey CF Howard Tenney went 4 for 5 with 4 RBI and a HR today as the Rivals absolutely thrashed the Herders, 19-0.

Tuesday, 6/13/1933

  • White Sox 1B Bob Hove had a 2-HR day and SP Isaac Lee dominated with 10 Ks. Deerborn shut out Taawa again, 4-0. Since winning their first 2 games, the Chargers have now lost 8 straight.
  • Salvation LF Gary Donovan tied the UA record with 3 doubles today against the Miners. Donovan pulled into second base with a limp after tweaking something in his left hip. He came out of the game, but is not currently on the IL. It was another dramatic game, with the Brothers winning 10-6 in 12 innings.

Wednesday, 6/14/1933

  • The Delle Stars swept the Prissley Trail Blazers for their 6th straight win. 3B Mario Olivo homered for the 4th straight game. Stars pitchers combined for 13 Ks in the 7-1 win.
  • The Chargers lost their 9th straight, as the White Sox walked off in the bottom of the 10th on a solo home run from 1B Bob Hove.
  • Fure Len went 4 for 5 with a HR, a double, and 2 RBI as the red-hot Rivals swept Cherricaw with a 12-6 win.
  • The Miners unloaded on the Brothers today in a 26-3 pounding. Miners LF Ron Morley had 3 HR in the game, along with a pair of singles. Morley scored 5 runs to tie the UA record, and knocked in 6 runs. He is currently hitting .407 on the year.

Thursday, 6/15/1933

  • Miners SP John Obanjoko left in the 3rd inning with pain in his elbow. Test results were negative. He will likely make his next start. Lia Kompos went on to beat Roland, 4-3. The Stags have now lost 4 straight.
  • White Sox SP Mathew Huertata has had a great start to 1933, but he left the game in substantial pain today. The team reported that he is experiencing back pain. He is listed as day-to-day.
  • Bears RH SP Mark Lia Yorino went 7 innings and struck out 7 batters today as Platte took the first game against Delle in a rematch of last season’s SemiFinal Series.
  • Rivals RF Gary Holland went 3 for 3 with 2 triples and an RBI today. Railey blanked Northsouth, 4-0. The Rivals are out to a 9-2 start!
  • The Chargers snapped their losing streak with a 6-4 win over the Trail Blazers. Taawa CF Myles Williams hit 2 HR for 3 RBI.

Friday 6/16/1933

  • Northsouth RHP Raul Babechi exited the game against Railey today with a finger blister. He is expected to make his next start. The Guardians went on to win 3-0. The Guardians and Rivals will play the rubber match tomorrow in Northsouth.
  • Lia Kompos 1B Jaime Karrika teed off for 2 HR in the Miners’ 14-5 thumping of the Roland Stags. The Stags now have the worst record in the UA.

Saturday 6/17/1933

  • Owls LF Ronald Joyner hit a pair of HRs today for 4 RBI. Redwood dropped the game to Salvation, 9-6.
  • Deerborn SP Jorge Takato pitched 8 innings, allowing 1 run on 4 hits, as the White Sox downed the Herders, 4-1. CL Carlos Garcika earned his 4th save.
  • Stags CF Ramon Zuniga went deep for 3 HR today. The Stags scored 3 in the top of the 10th to beat the Miners, 7-4. This win snaps a 7-game losing streak for Roland.
  • Stars 3B Mario Olivo hit his league-leading 8th HR of the season as Delle took the rubber match in Platte, 3-1. Bears SP Craig Ogg struck out 9, but was saddled with the loss.

Friday, 6/16/1933

  • RHP Tony Konzalez has signed a 4-year, $6.68 million contract with the Lia Puedris Kings. Konzales has spent the last 5 season with the Cherricaw Herders organization in the UA.
