The week began with the UMB Inaugural All-Star Game at Prissley Arena. The Eastern Division All-Stars beat the Western Division All-Stars, 65-57. G Arnold Hall of the Wight Spirits took home All-Star MVP honors with 12 points, 7 assists, and 3 rebounds.

The Wight Spirits were on the playoff bubble coming out of the All-Star break, but G Arnold Hall’s MVP-caliber season continues. In addition to his All-Star MVP award, he surpassed Jesse Mills as the league’s leading scorer this week. He also leads UMB in steals and assists.

The Riverside Ramblers owned the top record in UMB at 21-6 coming into this week, riding a 5-game win streak. They also led the league with four All-Star selections. The Ramblers led the West by 6 games over Gandolire coming out of the All-Star break.

The Prissley Riverwolves skidded into the All-Star break on a 3-game losing streak, their worst stretch of the season. They were surpassed by the Ramblers for UMB’s best record but still led the East by 4 games over the Lightning and Aces as Week 10 began.

UMB News

  • The top two teams in the East met in Roland as the Riverwolves visited the Aces. Both teams were on 3-game losing streaks coming into the game. SG Jesse Mills scored 20 points for Prissley, but the Aces turned up the heat early and won, 61-48. Roland PG Daniel Saucedoto scored 17 points with 5 assists and a rebound in the win. The Riverwolves have now lost 4 straight games, but still lead the Aces by 3 games in the Eastern Division.
  • The Thundaru Lightning stayed red-hot with their sixth straight win, beating the Bannarets on the road, 50-46. Lightning F Timoteo Gilbuena put up 16 pooints with a career-high 5 rebounds in the win. Thundaru is tied for second in the East, 3 games out of first.
  • The Ramblers’ 5-game win streak came to an end when the Jewels came to town and trounced Riverside, 56-36. Gandolire GF Scott Goodman scored 15 points with 2 blocked shots and an assist. Riverside still holds a comfortable 5-game lead over Gandolire for first place in the West.
  • The Salvation Brothers’ win streak continued as they earned their 4th straight win, 53-34, over the Comets in Crawsburgh. Brothers GF Isaac Hart dropped a career-high 21 points with 4 rebounds, a steal, and a block. Salvation remains 1.5 games out of a playoff berth.
  • The Scouts took advantage of the Riverside loss with a 56-37 win over Deerborn. They are now within 5.5 games of first place in the Western Division. FC Shaun Burgess connecting on a career-high 7 assists, scored 9 points, blocked 2 shots, and pulled down 4 rebounds in the win.
  • The Prissley Riverwolves broke their 4-game losing streak to get back in the win column with a 53-48 victory in Plains City. Riverwolves G Brandon Benakotas led the way with 13 points, 4 rebounds (a career-high), 2 steals, and an assist. Prissley leads Roland and Thundaru by 4 games in the East. The Scouts are holding onto a slim lead over the Brothers for the last playoff spot in the West.
  • The Jewels won their fourth straight game, holding off the Comets for a 48-46 road win. Gandolire GF Scott Goodman played great, scoring 20 points, with 4 rebounds and a steal.
  • The Wight Spirits snapped Thundaru’s 6-game win streak with a 54-43 win at home. Arnold Hall had another great game, scoring 14 points, 8 assists, 2 rebounds, and a steal. Wight is one game behind Thundaru and Roland for the final playoff spot in the East.
  • The Brothers won in Railey for their fifth straight win. Salvation GF Isaac Hart scored 13 points, with 4 rebounds and a career-high 3 steals. Salvation is just a half game behind Plains City for the West’s last playoff spot.
  • Riverside GF Luther James dropped 20 points, had 5 rebounds, and a block, as the Ramblers beat the Tippers, 52-49 in Riverside. Riverside holds the league’s best record at 22-7.
  • The Bannarets beat the Aces in OT, 54-53. The Aces now trail the Riverwolves by 4 games in the Eastern Division. Bannarets GF Ivan Kordero could miss up to two weeks after suffering a bruised toe early in the game.
  • The Thundaru Lightning bounced back from their loss in Wight with a big 55-44 win over UMB’s top team, the Riverside Ramblers. Lightning G Theodore Duncan put up 18 points with 2 assists, a rebound, and a steal. Riverside holds a 4-game lead over Gandolire in the West, while Thundaru remains tied with Roland for second place in the East.
  • Arnold Hall scored 22 points, but the Riverwolves held off the Spirits for a 58-52 win at home in Prissley. The Riverwolves remain the top team in the East. The Spirits are one game behind the Lightning and Aces for the last playoff spot in the Eastern Division with 8 games to go in the season.
  • The Gandolire Jewels won their fifth straight game, with a 46-40 win over the Colonels in Railey. Jewels PG Johnny Sherman scored 12 points with 4 assists and a rebound in the win. Gandolire is currently second in the West, trailing the Ramblers by 4 games.
  • The Brothers’ win streak is up to six after they defeated the Giants in Deerborn, 52-44. Isaac Hart played well again with 11 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, and a blocked shot. Salvation remains a half game back of Plains City for the West’s final playoff spot.
