On January 8, the UMB league office released the All-Star rosters ahead of next week’s Inaugural All-Star Game in Prissley.

The Deerborn Giants and the Roland Aces were snubbed in this year’s All-Star selection.

Jewels GF Scott Goodman returned from a back strain this week as the Jewels continue to battle for a playoff spot in the Western Division. Goodman was honored as a starting selection for the West All-Stars.

The Riverside Ramblers came into Week 9 with a record of 18-6, giving them 5-game lead in the Western Division over the Jewels and the Scouts.

As the week began, the Prissley Riverwolves owned the UMB league’s best record at 19-5. They led the Aces by 4 games for first in the Eastern Division.

  • The Wight Spirits won their second straight after a 5-game skid, beating the Aces in Roland, 67-49. Spirits PG Arnold Hall had 18 points and a UMB record 12 assists in the blowout win. The Spirits are 5 games out of first, while the Aces remain 4 games behind the Riverwolves.
  • Thundaru got a big home win to get back to a winning record, knocking off the Gandolire Jewels 60-45. Lightning G Theodore Duncan put up 14 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals in the win. Johnny Sherman scored 17 in the Jewels’ losing effort. The win is the third straight for the Lightning, who had previously lost 7 of their last 10 games.
  • The Brothers upset the Riverwolves, 48-37. Prissley falls to 19-6, now tied for UMB’s best record with the Ramblers. They still lead the East by 4 games. Salvation GF Shannon Oliver had a career night with 9 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 blocked shots.
  • The Riverside Ramblers beat up on the Tiny Sea Tippers, 61-39. Luther James scored 17 points and pulled down 5 rebounds in the big win. Riverside is now tied for the league’s best record with Prissley. They lead the Western Division by 5 games.
  • Jewels GF Scott Goodman returned to action after missing 10 games with a back strain. He appeared to be 100 percent, dropping 21 points with 3 rebounds and 2 blocks. Gandolire beat Railey, 52-40.
  • The Lightning won their 4th straight and upset the league’s top team, beating the Riverwolves on the road, 55-47. Thundaru SG Hubert Hart played great with a career-high 14 points, along with 3 rebounds and an assist. UMB’s top scorer Jesse Mills scored 18, but the Wolves lost their second straight game.
  • Crawsburgh Comets FC Albert Mack scored 12 points with 2 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 blocks. The Comets beat the Spirits in Wight, 51-45. Arnold Hall had another big game for the Spirits despite the team’s loss, with 22 points and 3 rebounds. With the win, the Comets are now just 2 games behind the Spirits for the final playoff spot in the East.
  • The Ramblers earned their 4th straight win with a 57-42 victory at home over the Deerborn Giants. Riverside GF Luther James dropped 20 points with 4 3PTs, 5 rebounds, and an assist. Riverside now owns the league’s best record at 20-6, with 6-game lead in the Western Division.
  • The Ramblers stayed hot, winning their 5th straight game, 55-43, over the Carver Bannarets. Riverside GF Luther James scored 14 points with 6 rebounds and a career-high 4 assists in the win. The Ramblers own the league’s best record at 21-6 and a 6-game lead in the Western Division.
  • The Prissley Riverwolves dropped their third straight game, losing at home to the Gandolire Jewels, 53-45. Jewels GF Scott Goodman led Gandolire with 11 points, 6 rebounds, an assist, and a block in his seconds game back from injury. This is the Wolves’ first 3-game losing streak. They hold a 4-game lead in the UMB East. The Jewels are second in the West, 6 games behind the Ramblers.
  • The Thundaru Lightning continued their hot streak with a 60-34 trouncing of the Colts. Lightning F Timoteo Gilbuena scored 16 points with 2 assists and 2 blocks in the win. The Lightning have won 5 straight games and are now tied with the Roland Aces for second place in the East.
  • The Aces lost at home to the Tippers, 59-53, marking their third straight loss. PG Stanley Brady had a career night for Tiny Sea, with 17 points, a rebound, a steal, and a block. The loss puts the Aces in a tie for second in the East, 4 games behind the first-place Riverwolves.
