In the second-to-last week of the Regular Season, the playoff picture became a little clearer. Some teams have their playoff positions set, some are still on the bubble, and some are looking ahead to next season.
Week 13 Scoreboard:

RW (4-8) @ AMB (4-8): The Amblint Poets hosted the Redwood Flyers. Neither team will make the playoffs this year. The Poets defense stepped up and kept Redwood off the scoreboard in a shutout win at home. Amblint DL James Burleson sacked Redwood QB Lemanea’aa Gacharna 4 times in the win. The Poets sacked Gacharna a total of 7 times. Final: AMB 16, RW 0.

DEE (5-6-1) @ CAR (5-7): To keep their playoff hopes alive, the Deerborn Gryphons needed a win on the road against the Carver Bulldogs. However, the Bulldogs outplayed the Gryphons in nearly every facet to slam the door on Deerborn’s season. WR Robert Vializ made 7 catches for 110 yards and a TD in the win. Final: CAR 17, DEE 3.

PET (2-9-1) @ DEL (9-3): The Delle Chaparrals are locked in as the number two playoff seed, but they hosted the Petchon Predators to tune things up in Week 13. The game was close, but the Chaparrals pulled away on a pass from QB Hubert Aguirre to HB Anthony Gasporra with 3:10 to go in the game. Aguirre passed for 2 TDs on 202 yards and an INT in the win. Final: DEL 16, PET 5.

TAA (11-1) @ ELD (7-5): The Elderwood Archers looked to stop a 3-game slide as they traveled to Taawa to take on the SC’s top-seeded Jackals. In a tough break for the Archers, QB Hugh Ricketts left the game with a concussion and will miss the remainder of the season, including any possible Archers playoff games. Backup QB Jeremy Perer performed admirably, but was ultimately stopped on Elderwood’s final drive when Taawa CB Allen Dunlap batted down a pass on fourth down. Taawa HB Rickie Bates ran for 83 yards and a TD on 18 rushes, and had 3 catches for 17 yards in the win. Elderwood has now lost 4 straight games, but can still become the NC Wild Card with a win against Salvation in Week 14. Final: TAA 20, ELD 15.

GR (4-8) @ PLA (6-6): The Platte Cragsmen looked to stay in the Wild Card race as they hosted the Green Rock Warriors. In a hard-fought contest, the Warriors took the lead early in the fourth quarter, but a pick-six by Platte LB Kevin Kamacho tied it, and a 46-yard pass from QB Alvin Crane to WR John Skogv gave the Cragsmen the lead with just under 3 minutes to go. An INT by rookie CB Martin Guilfu sealed Platte’s win. The Cragsmen are tied with Lia Kompos for the Wild Card heading into the final week of the Regular Season. Final: PLA 30, GR 23.

NOR (1-11) @ SAL (7-5): The Salvation Brothers hosted the Northsouth Generals. Salvation needed a win to keep their sites on both the NC West title and the Wild Card in a crowded division. The Brothers rode a strong second half to a win over the struggling Generals. Salvation HB Milo Whaley ran for 91 yards and a TD on 19 carries and picked up another 30 yards on 3 catches. The Brothers are set for a showdown against the Archers next week for the final playoff spot. Final: SAL 23, NOR 13.

LK (7-5) @ TS (8-4): The Tiny Sea Titans hosted the Lia Kompos Pumas in a marquee match-up. With a win, the Titans would clinch the NC West title, while Lia Kompos could clinch the SC Wild Card if they could win the game. In a tight game, the Titans held off the Pumas with strong defense down the stretch. Tiny Sea SS Dario Wilson had a sack and a fumble recovery in the win. The Titans are NC West champs and will host the eventual NC Wild Card team in the playoffs. The Pumas can clinch the SC Wild Card with a win against Amblint or a Platte loss against Delle in Week 14. They will be without star HB David Juarez for the rest of the year, who will miss the rest of the year with a pulled oblique. Final: TS 24, LK 17.

PC (9-3) @ WIG (6-6): The Wight Ravens could no longer make the playoffs by the time their game against the Plains City Travelers came around this week. With a win, the Travelers wold clinch the top NC seed and a first round bye. Plains City held off a late Ravens comeback to take the conference’s top spot. Travelers QB Phillip Marinna’a threw for only 146 yards, but had 2 TDs and no INTs. Plains City will play at home in the Northern Conference Championship in a few weeks after narrowly missing the playoffs due to a tiebreaker last season. Final: PC 24, WIG 19.
