As we enter the final month of the Regular Season, the stage is set for a close Northern Conference playoff race. With a win against Lia Kompos this week, the Jackals could claim the SC West title.
Week 11 Scoreboard:

WIG (5-5) @ CAR (4-6): The Wight Ravens visited the Carver Bulldogs with both teams hoping to keep their playoff hopes alive. The Bulldogs got started early with a huge 24-point first quarter and never looked back. Carver HB Brendan Gerraro rushed for 97 yards and a TD and caught 2 passes for 40 yards and another TD. Gerraro suffered a leg injury in the game and will likely be out of action until Week 14. Both teams are now 5-6, tied for second place in the NC East, 2 games out of a playoff spot. Final: CAR 37, WIG 21.

DEE (5-5) @ DEL (7-3): After starting 7-0 and then losing 3 straight games, the Delle Chaparrals looked to get back on track at home against the Deerborn Gryphons. Chaps QB Hubert Aguirre briefly left the game twice, but was able to return at full strength to lead the tea, with 366 passing yards, 2 TDs and 2 INTs. HB Robert Lavender ran for 91 yards as Delle returned to the win column in a strong effort. Delle DE Jason Gomez had 4 sacks in the win. Final: DEL 30, DEE 18.

RW (3-7) @ ELD (7-3): The first-place Elderwood Archers hosted the Redwood Flyers in a cross-conference match-up. It was a chilly, rainy day at Trefellen Field. The Flyers played tough against the heavily-favored Archers and scored on 3-yard David Guidino TD run with 12 seconds left to take a shocking upset victory. The Archers have lost two straight games to sub-.500 teams and are now tied for first place in the NC West. Final: RW 23, ELD 22.

TS (6-4) @ NOR (1-9): The Tiny Sea Titans traveled to Northsouth to take on the Generals. Titans K Terry Turpin made 4 FGs in the contest. Tiny Sea left rookie Northsouth QB Quincy Medina sore with 6 QB sacks as the Titans took the victory to move into a tie for first place in the NC West. Final: TS 27, NOR 17.

PC (7-3) @ PET (2-8): The Petchon Predators hosted the Plains City Travelers. The Travelers looked to extend their NC East lead against a Predators team that came into the game flying high after achieving a blowout upset last week. Petchon led narrowly for the entire game until Plains City QB Phillip Marinna’a led a scoring drive with 1:53 to go, ending with a 15-yard pass to WR Clyde Knox to give the Travelers the win. LB Allen Baker had a sack on 8 total tackles for Plains City. The Travelers now hold a 2-game lead in the NC East and the Northern Conference’s best record at 8-3. They can secure the NC East title next week at home against Carver. Final: PC 13, PET 10.

AMB (4-6) @ PLA (5-5): The Platte Cragsmen looked to move up in the playoff conversation and bounce back from an embarrassing rout last week as they hosted the Amblint Poets. Platte HB Adam Bradshaw had a great game, with 179 yards on 30 rushes and a TD. He leads the league in rushing yards. Cragsmen QB Alvin Crane passed for 251 yards as Platte took a solid win at home. K Dennis Peebles went 5 for 5 on FGs. The Cragsmen still trail Delle by 2 games in the SC East, but are tied for the SC Wild Card with 3 games to go. Final: PLA 37, AMB 23.

GR (3-7) @ SAL (6-4): The Salvation Brothers looked to move into a first place tie against the Green Rock Warriors, who were flying high coming off a big upset win in Week 10. The Brothers rode a 21-point second quarter to a big win at the City Center. Brothers HB Juan Upchurch picked up 86 yards and 3 TDs on 12 carries while QB William Maya passed for 319 yards and 2 TDs with zero INTs. HB Milo Whaley also ran for 91 yards in the victory. Salvation is now in a three-way tie for first with Tiny Sea and Elderwood as we enter the final three weeks of the season. Final: SAL 45, GR 20.

LK (6-4) @ TAA (9-1): With their first division title in sight, the Taawa Jackals hosted the Lia Kompos Pumas. Led by backup QB William Martinez, the Jackals spanked the Pumas to become the first team to win a division in 1934. Martinez erupted for 363 yards and 4 TDs as he stood in for MVP candidate James De La Cruz, who is still out with a sprained ankle. Williams hooked up with WR Matthew Grubb on 8 passes for 140 yards and 2 TDs. The SC West champion Jackals own the best record in the UPF at 10-1 as they now turn their attention to securing a first round bye in the playoffs. James De La Cruz will be back next week. The Pumas have dropped two straight games and are tied with Platte for the SC Wild Card. They own the head-to-head tiebreaker with the Cragsmen, having beaten them in Week 8. Final: TAA 39, LK 25.
