Week 3 saw big match-ups between division rivals. The Jackals and the Pumas met in Lia Kompos and the Archers played the Titans in Tiny Sea, along with a full slate other action.
Week 3 Scoreboard:

PET (1-1) @ AMB (0-2): The Amblint Poets hosted the Petchon Predators at the Woover Bowl. Poets rookie HB Austin Faulkner had a great day, running for 96 yards and a TD, along with 3 catches for 19 yards and a TD. The Poets picked up their first win of the season with a healthy pounding of the Predators. Final: AMB 29, PET 7.

PLA (1-1) @ DEE (2-0): The Platte Cragsmen visited the Deerborn Gryphons on Sunday. The Cragsmen suffered a tough loss with QB Alvin Crane leaving in the second quarter with a concussion. Backup QB Jermaine Powers struggled to connect with receivers early on and threw 2 INTs, but ultimately led an incredible 17-point fourth quarter comeback in which the Cragsmen won on a 28-yard FG by K Dennis Peebles. Rookie Platte SS Frank Talvavera intercepted 2 passes and recorded 9 tackles in the win. Bad news for Platte: Alvin Crane will likely miss 3 weeks due to his head injury. Final: PLA 23, DEE 20.

NOR (0-2) @ GR (0-2): Two winless teams met in Green Rock, with the Warriors hosting the Northsouth Generals. In a low-scoring affair, the Generals managed to come out on top for their first-ever franchise win. Generals LB Edward Rhodes racked up 11 tackles in the game, as Northsouth finally put a tick in the win column in their second season. Final: NOR 10, GR 6.

TAA (2-0) @ LK (2-0): The best defense in the league went up against the top offense in the league as the Lia Kompos Pumas hosted the Taawa Jackals in an early-season division showdown. The contest lived up to the hype, with both MVP-candidate QBs performing well. The Jackals relied on their running game to wear down the Pumas defense. HB Rickie Bates picked up 107 yards on 23 carries as Taawa took over first place in the division with a tough road win. Final: TAA 24, LK 17.

DEL (2-0) @ PC (1-1): The Delle Chaparrals looked to stay unbeaten as they visited the Plains City Travelers. It was a windy day on the plains. The Chaparrals had trouble finding the endzone until the fourth quarter, but QB Hubert Aguirre ultimately threw for 279 yards and a TD. After tying the game with a TD pass to FB Thomas Lovell, Aguirre led the Chaparrals on a 1:23 scoring drive to set up the winning FG by K Ralph Mclemore. Final: DEL 13, PC 10.

SAL (1-1) @ RW (0-2): The Salvation Brothers looked to bounce back from a Week 2 loss against the Flyers in Redwood. Brothers QB William Maya threw for 247 yards and TD, while DL Demarcus Jernigan had a sack on 7 total tackles, 4 of which were for a loss of yardage. Salvation cruised against a struggling Redwood team. Final: SAL 16, RW 3.

ELD (2-0) @ TS (1-1): The Elderwood Archers looked to stay unbeaten as they took on the Tiny Sea Titans on the road. Tiny Sea HB Anthony Kamzee had another good outing, rushing for 79 yards and 2 TDs on 15 carries and making 2 catches for 29 yards. QB Hugh Ricketts played well for the Archers, passing for 274 yards and a TD and rushing for 55 yards more. However, the day belonged to the Titans, who beat up on the Archers for a surprising blowout win. There is now a three-way tie for first in the NC West between Elderwood, Salvation, and Tiny Sea. Final: TS 34, ELD 16.

CAR (0-2) @ WIG (1-1): After losses against tough teams in the first two weeks, the Carver Bulldogs visited the Wight Ravens in a big division game in the rain. The Bulldogs led by 11 at halftime, but the Ravens kept them from scoring the second half. Rookie LB Joe Hutchings had a tremendous day for Wight with a fumble recovery and an INT that he returned for a TD. The Bulldogs remain winless in a difficult division as the Ravens move into a first-place tie with the Gryphons. Final: TS 20, WIG 17.
