The new UPF season rolls on with Week 2!
Week 2 Scoreboard:




TAA (1-0) @ AMB (0-1): The Taawa Jackals rode to a swift victory over the Amblint Poets at the Woover Bowl. Taawa QB James De La Cruz was confident, throwing for 257 yards and 3 TDs. De La Cruz threw 2 INTs, but the Jackals cruised to another win, with HB Rickie Bates rushing for 118 yards on 23 carries. Jackals DE Carmen Rios recorded 2 sacks in the game. Final: TAA 35, AMB 19.


DEL (1-0) @ CAR (0-1): The Delle Chaparrals visited the Carver Bulldogs in Week 2. Delle QB Hubert Aguirre threw for 236 yards and a pair of TDs, while HB Robert Lavender ran for 84 yards and picked up 50 yards and a TD on 4 catches as the Chaparrals held on for a road win. Final: DEL: 23, CAR 17.


DEE (1-0) @ SAL (1-0): The Salvation Brothers played their home opener against the Deerborn Gryphons. Gryphons QB Branden Warren was good for 304 yards and a TD, while K John Luna was 5 for 6 on FG kicks, including a 55-yarder. Salvation QB William Maya played well, with 251 passing yards, 2 TDs and an INT. However, the Gryphons’ held the Salvation offense scoreless in the second half to earn their second straight victory. Final: DEE 22, SAL 17.


LK (1-0) @ GR (0-1): The Lia Kompos Pumas went south to Green Rock to take on the Warriors. After failing to score a TD in their Week 1 win, Pumas QB Gerald Painter led the team to 31 points from 454 yards of total offense. Painter was 17 for 27 for 258 yards and 2 TDs.He also had 5 rushes for 44 yards. HB David Juarez ran for 97 yards on 23 attempts and DE Terrence Lugo logged 3 sacks as the Pumas stomped the Warriors. Final: LK 31, GR 10.


ELD (1-0) @ NOR (0-1): The Northsouth Generals faced a tough opponent at home with the Elderwood Archers in town. The Generals, still looking for their first franchise win, led the Archers 13-3 in the first half, but Elderwood rattled off 3 TDs in the last 7 minutes of the second quarter. Rookie QB Quincy Medina and HB Olin Nelson fought hard to keep the Generals in the game during the second half, but the Archers held on to win by a touchdown. Final: ELD 30, NOR 23.


RW (0-1) @ PET (0-1): The Redwood Flyers traveled to Franklyn Field to play the Petchon Predators with both teams looking to bounce back from losses in Week 1. Rookie Petchon QB Leslie Rambuka’a had a strong outing with 226 yards, 2 TDs, and an INT. Landon, Komulada, and Long combined for 76 rushing yards. LB Michael Bogan had an INT and 2 sacks on 6 total tackles. Final: PET 17, RW 9.


PC (1-0) @ PLA (0-1): The Platte Cragsmen hosted the Plains City Travelers, looking to bounce back from a heart breaker in Week 1. Platte HB Adam Bradshaw was great with 138 yards on 24 rushes and a TD. QB Alvin Crane had a rough day with 4 INTs for the Cragsmen while Plains City QB Phillip Marinna’a performed much better, wtih 274 yards, 2 TDs, and 1 INT. Ultimately, the Travelers couldn’t overcome Bradshaw’s great day, and the Cragsmen got their first win of the season. Final: PLA 35, PC 19.


WIG (1-0) @ TS (1-0): The Wight Ravens headed to Tiny Sea to take on the Titans. The Titans relied on their running game, particularly on HB Anthony Kamzee who was brilliant with 141 yards on just 19 carries. Overall, the Titans combined for 157 yards on the ground. Wight HB Garry Young had a good day as well, with 110 yards on 18 rushes, but the Ravens were unable to get much going for most of the second half and fell short of a comeback. Final: TS 20, WIG 17.
