The first-ever Wild Card Playoffs were held over the last three days. The Tiny Sea Metros visited division rivals the Cherricaw Herders, while the Platte Bears visited the Deerborn White Sox, with the winners set to move on to the SemiFinal Series. All games in the best-of-3 Wild Card round are held in the stadium of the team with home field advantage in the series.
As C Division champs, the Herders hosted the Metros. The Metros had all the momentum in the series despite being the road team. Tiny Sea surged at the end of the Regular Season and nearly took the C Division pennant from the Herders, who collapsed in the final month of the season and barely held on for the division title. Both teams made their first playoff appearances. The Metros are the first former NPL team to make the UA Playoffs.
The Deerborn White Sox won the B Division and hosted the Platte Bears, who won a 1-game tiebreaker against the Guardians to squeak into the postseason. Both teams have won a Windsor Cup. The White Sox won the Windsor Cup in 1929, and have since appeared in and lost four straight Finals series, including a loss to the Bears in 1930.
The winners of the Wild Card Playoffs move on to face either the Delle Stars or the Redwood Owls, who have byes to the SemiFinal Series with the two best records in the UA.
