Last season’s NPL MVP, Wight 1B Ryad Renaud, hit .500 this week, with 6 HR and 8 RBI. He crossed the plate 9 times as the Spiders climbed the standings with a 6-1 week.

As the season got into full swing in Week 3, the Bears struggled to remain on top of the UA, while the Spiders and Stars surged.

Monday, 6/18/1934
- Spiders 1B Ryad Renaud went deep twice and scored 4 runs in Wight’s 12-6 win over Taawa. Spiders SS Jose Meza hit 2 doubles and scored 4 runs in the win.
- 21-year old Salvation RH SP Kamel Gosselin fanned 10 batters in 6 innings of work and earned the win in the Brothers’ 6-2 win over the Owls.
Tuesday, 6/19/1934
- Spiders 1B Ryad Renaud hit 2 HR for the second straight game in a 3-for-4 day. Wight beat Taawa again, 12-6.
- Starter Doug Manns and the Northsouth bullpen combined to allow just 2 hits in the Guardians’ 2-0 win in Deerborn.
- Prissley 2B Ismail Lefebvre went 3 for 4 with 2 HR and 3 RBI in the Blazers’ 6-4 win at Delle.
- Brothers RH SP Tony Lia Taawa allowed only 1 hit over 7 innings and struck out 9 in Salvation’s combined 1-hitter against the Owls. Final: SAL 4, RW 0.
Wednesday, 6/20/1934
- Roland LH SP Rich Smith allowed 4 hits over 8 scoreless innings and struck out 7. RF Tony Katakien went 3 for 5 with a 3-run HR and 4 total RBI. The Stags beat the Herders, 8-0.
- Metros RF Francisco Kosgei strained a rib muscle in a base path collision against the Rivals. Kosgei will miss around 5 weeks. Railey beat Tiny Sea, 5-4.
- Miners CL Mark Sapfoot experienced back spasms after tonight’s 7-3 win over the Reapers. Sapfoot will be day-to-day for the next few days.
- Delle 1B Pedro Bausi hit 2 HR for 6 RBI as the Stars beat the Trail Blazers, 8-4.
- Stars starter Jeffrey Irvin will be day-to-day for the next 1-2 weeks with elbow soreness.
- The Brothers won their fourth straight and swept the Owls with an 8-2 win in Redwood. Salvation CF Dang Gurr hit 2 triples and scored 3 times in the win. SS Jeff Brown drove him home each time for 3 RBI.
Thursday, 6/21/1934
- Miners starter Paul Jensen left the game against the Guardians after 2 innings with a sore knee. He will be day-to-day over the next week.
- Owls RH SP Evan Francis struck out 8 over 6.1 scoreless innings and picked up the win in Redwood’s 5-0 victory over Carver.
- Stars LF Antonio Teakowa hit a HR and a double for 4 RBI as Delle stomped Platte at Craterview Park, 10-0.
Friday 6/22/1934
- Spiders 1B Ryad Renaud hit his 9th HR of the season to draw even with Pedro Kopano of Cherricaw for the UA lead. It was Renaud’s 6th HR this week! Brothers RH SP Tom Lia Morro struck out 10, but wound up on the losing end against Wight, 2-1.
- Guardians RF Brad Bailey hit a grand slam in the fourth inning to chase Miners starter Javier Rosaritoko. It proved to be the difference in Northsouth’s 5-1 win over Lia Kompos.
- Deerborn RF Curt Sawyer hit 2 solo HRs against the Chargers. Taawa RH SP Manny Kanja allowed only 1 hit over 6 innings, but the bullpen fell apart in the Chargers’ 9-4 loss to the White Sox.
- Owls RH SP Andres Sajjabi went 8.1 innings allowing only 3 hits and zero runs. He struck out 8 batters. Redwood beat Carver, 6-0.
- 22-year old Carver reliever Johnson Brown will miss the rest of the season. He will require reconstructive surgery on an elbow ligament.
Saturday 6/23/1934
- Herders SS Randy Morris went 3 for 4 with a double and a HR for 3 RBI. He scored 4 runs. Cherricaw beat Prissley, 13-5.
- The Stars won their fourth straight game and swept a 3-game series against the Bears with a 10-4 victory in Platte. Both teams are 12-7, in first place in their respective divisions.
- Stags RH SP Michael Mercer struck out 8 over 7 innings, allowing 2 runs on 2 hits. Roland swept Railey in a 3-game series and picked up their fourth straight win to take over first place in B Division.
- Wight RF Francisco Katakowa went off at the plate with a 5-for-5 day, including 3 HRs for 6 RBI. His teammate, LF Jim Ellison went 4 for 5 with 2 HR for 5 RBI. The Spiders pounded Salvation, 13-3, and swept the 3-game series.
Sunday 6/24/1934
- Spiders LF Andy Bernard hit his first HR with his new team, a grand slam off of Amin Forestier. Wight beat Redwood, 6-3, for their fourth straight win. They’ve won 7 of their last 8 games and are now tied for first in B Division with the Stags.
- Platte lost their fifth straight after a 12-3 start to the year, while Salvation beat Deerborn to leave the Bears and Brothers tied for first in C Division at 12-8.
- Stars RH SP Pat Carter mowed down 12 batters and allowed just 3 hits over 8 scoreless innings. His 12 Ks ties the Stars team record. Delle beat Carver, 6-4. Canaries starter Brian Bullock left the game with a blister that could affect his next start. The Stars have won 5 straight and 7 of their last 8, taking over first place in A Division.
- Metros 3B Juan Korrea had a 4-for-4 day with 2 HR and 7 RBI. Tiny Sea beat Northsouth, 9-4.
- Plains City 1B Vance Adegoke hit a triple and a 3-run HR for 5 total RBI. The Reapers beat Roland, 11-5. With the loss, the Stags are now tied with Wight for first in B Division.
- Prissley 3B Gurr Gurr hit a double and a grand slam, but the Rivals beat the Trail Blazers, 7-6.
- Taawa LF Jose Rios went 4 for 5 with a double, a triple, and 3 RBI. The Chargers beat the Miners in 10 innings, 8-5. The Lia Kompos loss leaves them 1 game behind Delle in A Division.

- Gallstone LF Jose Ibarra recorded a hat trick with 3 HR in a 5-for-6 day with 4 RBI. The Ropers lost to the Mystics, 9-5.
- Mystics CF Bob Hester hit 2 HR for 5 RBI in Kontekia’s 9-5 win over Gallstone.
- Kings ace Greg Crepin threw a 3-hit complete game shutout with 7 Ks in Lia Puedris’ 4-0 win over Elderwood.

- Kings 1B Luis Rokodriguez hit 2 HR for 4 RBI in the Kings’ 8-1win over the crosstown rival Blue Sox.
- Lakers 1B Blake Mercier went 3 for 4 with 2 HR for 3 RBI in Elderwood’s 5-4 win over Trimble.
Friday 6/22/1934
- Kings LH SP Ben Anderson notched 12 Ks over 6 1-hit innings as the Kings blanked the Blue Sox 4-0.
Saturday 6/23/1934
- Ducks rookie CF Erik Michel hit 2 doubles and a HR for 3 RBI in Gandolire’s 4-1 win at Riverside.
Sunday 6/24/1934
- Toppers RH SP Cherif Ferry’s spectacular season continued with a 1-hitter against the Blue Sox. He struck out 7 batters with zero walks over 9 IP. In 30.2 IP this season, he is 3-0 with a 0.88 ERA and 19 Ks.
