The Southern Conference Playoff field was set coming into the final week of the season, but thanks to back-to-back losses by the Lia Kompos Pumas, the Taawa Jackals had a chance to take the SC West division and a bye to the Conference Championship in Week 14 with a Pumas loss and a Jackals win. The Delle Chaparrals are the SC East champs and will host the Wild Card team (either Taawa or Lia Kompos) in the playoffs.
In the Northern Conference, the Elderwood Archers and Wight Ravens had a chance at the bye. The Ravens took on the Carver Bulldogs in Carver with the winner set to take the NC East division title. With a Wight win, the Ravens would earn the bye to the Conference Championship. The Archers would need a Wight loss and a win to earn the bye.
The Plains City Travelers will sadly miss the playoffs, due at least in part to a scheduling quirk that gave them fewer in-conference games than the Ravens and Bulldogs. UPF Commissioner Madelaine Wilkins has vowed to solve such scheduling inconsistencies before next season.
Week 14 Scoreboard:

RW (5-8) @ AMB (5-8): The Amblint Poets hosted the Redwood Flyers. The Poets got 5 FGs from K Marcus Gallois to get a win heading into the offseason. Amblint DT James Burleson recorded 3 QB sacks in the game. Final: AMB 15, RW 7.

WIG (9-4) @ CAR (8-5): The Carver Bulldogs hosted the Wight Ravens, with the NC East title on the line. Ravens QB Alphonso Esparkia left the game early with a concussion and did not return. Backup QB Henry Zarur failed to get anything going over the course of the game as the Bulldogs absolutely thrashed the Ravens. Carver QB Oscar Ivey threw for 288 yards, 3 TDs, and zero INTs in the blowout win. The Bulldogs are 1933 NC East champs! They will host the Ravens next week in the Wild Card Playoffs in an immediate rematch of this game. Wight QB Esparkia will be out for that game. Final: CAR 37, WIG 3.

TS (6-7) @ DEE (6-7): The Tiny Sea Titans visited the Deerborn Gryphons. In a battle of teams that had a view to a playoff run but fell just short, the game ended in a tie. Gryphons QB Branden Warren played very well despite the snowy weather, throwing for a massive 479 yards and 4 TDs. Final: TS 31, DEE 31.

PLA (5-8) @ ELD (8-4-1): The Elderwood Archers hosted the Platte Cragesmen. A win would give the NC West champ Archers a bye to the Northern Conference Championship. The Cragsmen played hard, but came up short on a fourth quarter comeback attempt. Elderwood QB Hugh Ricketts threw for 267 yards and 4 TDs. The Archers earn a bye as they win their third straight game to end the Regular Season. They’ll await the winner of the Wight/Carver playoff game. Final: ELD 35, PLA 28.

PC (8-4) @ GR (4-9): The Plains City Travelers visited the Green Rock Warriors. Plains City won in a tight contest that featured 7 FGs from Travelers K Donnie Scanlon. The Travelers are missing the playoffs despite a very strong run to the end the season, including knocking off the unbeaten Pumas in Week 12. They finished tied with both Wight and Carver in the wins column, but come out at the bottom of the stack due to tiebreakers that hinge on division/conference records. The Travelers played fewer in-conference games than the other teams. UPF commissioner Madelaine Wilkings has vowed to balance scheduling in the league moving forward. Final: PC 28, GR 26.

DEL (9-4) @ NOR (0-13): The Delle Chaparrals kept their momentum from last week’s win with a dominant victory over the Generals in Northsouth. Delle HB Robert Lavender rushed for 117 yards and a touchdown in the win. The Generals finish winless, much to the delight of Northsouth’s many detractors after the Northsouth Athletics cheated to win the Pennington Cup last year. The Generals had nothing to do with that team, but they are booed wherever they go. The Chaparrals will host the Wild Card team, either Lia Kompos or Taawa, in the UPF Playoffs next week. Final: DEL 37, NOR 9.

LK (10-2-1) @ PET (4-9): The Lia Kompos Pumas visited the Petchon Predators with the SC West title and a bye to the Conference Championship on the line. Lia Kompos had lost two straight games after going 11 weeks without losing. They had also lost HB Leonard Bryant to injury for the year. The team once thought to be a shoo-in for the Cup were suddenly reeling. The Pumas faced tough competition from the Predators, who led at halftime and again in the fourth quarter. Ultimately, the Pumas prevailed on a TD pass from QB Gerald Painter to WR George Blaylock. Painter left the game a few times with apparent leg pain, but played well overall and is expected to face no lingering issues after their bye week next week. The Pumas earn the SC West title and a bye to the SC Championship game. Final: LK 27, PET 20.

SAL (6-7) @ TAA (10-3): The Taawa Jackals hosted the Salvation Brothers to end the Regular Season. Jackals fans had their eyes on the scoreboard, as Taawa would need a win and a Pumas loss to win the division and earn a bye in the Playoffs. The Jackals did their part, cruising to a decisive win at home. Taawa TE Gerald Marshall had 4 catches for 116 yards and 2 TDs in the win. Sadly for the Jackals and their fans, the Pumas won their game and locked in the division title. Taawa will travel to Delle to play the Chaparrals next week in the Playoffs. Final: TAA 30, SAL 10.
