The Elderwood Archers and Lia Kompos Pumas met this week for the second time, in a possible Uplantic Bowl II preview. They tied in a spectacular game in their first match-up.
The Carver Bulldogs are in the thick of the playoff race in the NC East division, but they will have to go without QB Oscar Ivey, who is expected to be out until the final week of the Regular Season.
Tight races across the league continue as the season marches on.
Week 10 Scoreboard:

PC (5-4) @ DEL (6-3): The Delle Chaparrals hosted the Plains City Travelers with both teams eyeing division titles. The Chaparrals dominated the first half with a 20-0 lead, and held on for a victory as the Travelers’ comeback hopes ran out of time. Delle QB Hubert Aguirre threw for 3 TD passes and 247 yards. Final: DEE 31, PC 24.

LK (8-0-1) @ ELD (6-2-1): The Lia Kompos Pumas and Elderwood Archers met for the second team this year, this time in Elderwood. They tied two weeks ago in Lia Kompos. On a snowy day, the teams played another hotly contested game, but the Pumas came out on top with a game winning FG from K Hicham Gauna. Lia Kompos DE Terrence Lugo sacked Elderwood QB Hugh Ricketts 3 times in the win. The Pumas remain unbeaten on the year, the odds-on favorite to win the Pennington Cup. Final: LK 10, ELD 9.

SAL (2-7) @ GR (2-7): The Salvation Brothers snapped their losing streak with a road in against the Green Rock Warriors. The Warriors failed to tie the game with a 2-point conversion with 2:21 left in the game. Brothers HB Milo Whaley exploded for 149 yards rushing on 21 carries, and Brothers QB William Maya threw 3 TD passes. Final: SAL 21, GR 19.

CAR (5-4) @ NOR (0-9): The Carver Bulldogs hoped to keep pace in the NC East as they played the Generals in Northsouth. The Bulldogs dominated the Generals, but lost starting QB Oscar Ivey to injury in the third quarter. Backup Frank Daugherty narrowly lost the starting job to Ivey in the preseason, so the Bulldogs are confident he can help lead them to a division title. Final: CAR 23, NOR 3.

RW (3-6) @ PLA (4-5): The Redwood Flyers went to Platte to play the Cragsmen. Platte looked to keep pace with the Chaparrals after their win, and the Flyers hoped for a 4-th straight win. Redwood K hit a 43-yard FG with 5 seconds left to lift Redwood to their 4th straight victory, but their 0-6 start has already eliminated them from playoff contention in a division with two 9-win teams. The Cragsmen fall 3 games behind the Chaparrals in the NC East with just 4 games to go in the season. Final: RW 18, PLA 17.

DEE (4-5) @ TAA (8-1): The Taawa Jackals cruised to their 9th straight win against the Deerborn Gryphons at Sapfoot Stadium West. Jackals HB Rickie Bates rattled off 123 yards on 24 carries. He leads the league in rushing yardage. Taawa QB James De La Cruz threw for 255 yards and 2 TDs in the win. Taawa remains just a half game back of the unbeaten Pumas in the SC West. Final: TAA 22, DEE 9.

PET (4-5) @ TS (5-4): The Petchon Predators went to Tiny Sea to play the Titans. Tiny Sea dominated with a shutout victory. Titans HB Anthony Kamzee had a combined 151 yards on offense with 18 carries for 73 yards and a touchdown, plus 4 catches for 78 yards. The Titans are now just half a game behind the Archers in the NC West. Final: TS 19, PET 0.

AMB (3-6) @ WIG (6-3): The Wight Ravens hosted the Amblint Poets this week. In a sloppy game, Amblint QB Sean Trask’s 4-yard pass to TE Robert Rosen was the only touchdown. Amblint held on for an upset win on the road. With the loss, the Ravens are now tied for first with the Carver Bulldogs in the NC East. Final: AMB 12, WIG 9.
