The undefeated Lia Kompos Pumas faced another tough test this week against the Tiny Sea Titans, while the race in the NC East is up for grabs entering the final month of the Regular Season.

Week 9 Scoreboard:

ELD (6-1-1) @ CAR (4-4): The Carver Bulldogs hosted the Elderwood Archers and pulled of a huge upset win at the Lake Bowl. Carver QB Oscar Ivey threw for 299 yard, 2 TDs, and 1 INT in the win. Final: CAR 26, ELD 10.

GR (2-6) @ DEL (5-3): The Delle Chaparrals had a strong second half at home to whip the Green Rock Warriors. Delle QB Hubert Aguirre had a big day with 4 TDs on 234 yards passing, while HB Robert Lavender picked up 102 yards on the ground on 22 carries. Final: DEL 28, GR 6.

TS (5-3) @ LK (7-0-1): The Lia Kompos Pumas hosted the Tiny Sea Titans. Lia Kompos looked to remain undefeated while Tiny Sea looked to gain ground in the NC West after Elderwood’s loss. In a tight game, Pumas QB Gerald Painter led two solid drives in the fourth quarter to put Lia Kompos over the top with another win. Final: LK 21, TS 14.

WIG (5-3) @ NOR (0-8): The Wight Ravens visited the lowly Northsouth Generals, looking to keep a slim lead in the tight NC East division. The Generals fought hard on a rainy field in the second half to claw back from a 21-3 halftime deficit, but the Ravens held on for a 3-point win when Northsouth QB Corey Spain’s pass was intercepted by DB Eleu Eukakio in the final minute. Wight QB Alphonso Esparkia threw 2 TDs on 251 yards in the win. Final: WIG 24, NOR 21.

DEE (4-4) @ PET (3-5): The Petchon Predators held on for a solid win at home against the Deerborn Gryphons. Backup Petchon QB Elijah Kolon led the home team’s offense with 302 yards, a TD, and an INT. Deerborn falls to last place in the NC East, but trail the Ravens by only 2 games. Petchon has won 2 straight games and trail the Chaparrals by 2 games in the SC East. Final: PET 17, DEE 10.

SAL (2-6) @ PC (4-4): The Salvation Brothers headed to Plains City to take on the Travelers. Salvation hoped to turn things around after 6 straight losses, while Plains City looked to keep pace in a tight division. The Travelers struck first on a 52-yard punt return for a TD by Carl Anum, and they never looked back. The three-headed beast of running backs David Samaniega, Eddie Savage, and Jose Grant combined for 160 yards on the ground in the blowout win. The Travelers still trail the Ravens by 1 game in the NC East. Final: PC 26, SAL 6.

AMB (3-5) @ RW (2-6): The Redwood Flyers pulled off their third straight win at home against the Amblint Poets. The Flyers held on as Amblint K Marcus Galloi missed a would-be game-tying FG with 1:07 to go. Redwood QB Lemanea’a Gacharna passed for 222 yards and 2 TDs. Despite their win streak, the postseason outlook is bleak for Redwood, who are 5 games out of a playoff spot with 5 weeks to go. Final: RW 14, AMB 11.

PLA (4-4) @ TAA (7-1): The Taawa Jackals hosted the Platte Cragsmen, with both teams looking to keep pace in their respective divisions. The Jackals led for most of the game, but the Cragsmen mounted a fourth quarter comeback with a recovered onside kick and a pair of TD passes from QB Alvin Crane. However, the Cragsmen couldn’t recover a second onside kick with 12 seconds to go. Taawa HB Rickie Bates had 106 yards on 23 rushes, while K Kermit Butler hit 5 FGs and 2 XPs in the win. Final: TAA 29, PLA 27.
