Five teams remained unbeaten going into Week 3; four of them were featured in games against one another in a big week that helped bring the young season into focus. After the dust settled this week, only one team in each conference still boasted an unbeaten record.

Week 3 Scoreboard:

SAL (2-0) @ ELD (1-1): The Elderwood Archers dominated on Thursday night to hand the Salvation Brothers their first loss of the season. Elderwood HB Mark Muinos led the charge with 3 TDs and 119 yards on 21 carries. Archers QB Hugh Ricketts picked up 65 yards on 8 carries as the Brothers were out-rushed 221 yards to 48 yards in the game. Final: ELD 30, SAL 9.

PLA (2-0) @ LK (2-0): The Platte Cragsmen and the Lia Kompos Pumas were the only unbeaten teams in the Southern Conference when they met on Sunday. The Pumas cruised to a solid win with nearly 500 yards of total offense. Lia Kompos QB Gerald Painter threw for 314 yards and a pair of TDs with zero interceptions, and HB David Juarez racked up 99 yards rushing on 16 carries in the win. Final: LK 38, PLA 21.

GR (0-2) @ PET (0-2): On a wet and wild day in stormy Petchon, the Predators hosted the Green Rock Warriors with both teams looking for their first win. Predators QB Jason Manalani’i threw a 3-yard pass to TE Christopher Gable in the third quarter for the game’s only touchdown. Final: PET 13, GR 9.

AMB (1-1) @ PC (1-1): QB Sean Trask and the Amblint Poets had a tough day on the road against the Plains City Travelers. Trask threw a pair of interceptions and was sacked 3 times as Plains City cruised to a 23-10 victory. Travelers QB Phillip Marinna’a hooked up with WR Clyde Knox for 104 yards on 7 receptions and 2 TDs in the win. Final: PC 23, AMB 10.

DEL (0-2) @ RW (0-2): Last season’s UPFF Southern Conference champs, the Delle Chaparrals, visited the Redwood Flyers with both teams looking for their first win. The Chaps dominated the Flyers, holding Redwood to just 36 yards on the ground. Delle DE Elliot Maples had 7 tackles, 2 of which were sacks. Final: DEL 21, RW 3.

NOR (0-2) @ TAA (1-1): A rare rainy day in Taawa saw the Jackals host the Northsouth Generals. The game started slow, but Taawa picked up a solid win, beating Northsouth soundly in all facets of the game. Taawa DL Sherman Pratt had 4 tackles for a loss out of 8 total, with 3 QB sacks in the win. Final: TAA 23, NOR 10.

CAR (1-1) @ TS (1-1): The Tiny Sea Titans came back from an 11-point halftime deficit to overcome the Carver Bulldogs at the Tiny Sea Coliseum. Second half turnovers were crucial to the game’s outcome. Carver QB Oscar Ivey threw an interception to Tiny Sea DB Christopher Johnson in the third quarter, and WR Luther Galkano lost a fumble late in the fourth to seal the loss. Final: TS 20, CAR 17.

DEE (2-0) @ WIG (2-0): The Deerborn Gryphons traveled to Wight to take on the Ravens in the first-ever meeting in a budding NC East rivalry. The Gryphons took advantage of two missed FGs by Ravens K Dalton Kandoro, taking a quick 14-0 lead. Deerborn never looked back, taking a 21-3 lead into halftime and keeping Wight out of the endzone until the final minute of the game. Gryphons DE Tyree Arminderiz sacked Ravens QB Alphonso Esparkia for 3 of the 5 total sacks for Deerborn in the game. Final: DEE 30, WIG 12.
