Offseason Report: 1933 UA & NPL Awards

November 1, 1933

The final season of the original format has concluded and the 1933 UA and NPL awards have been handed out!

Players have filed for free agency. This is a big year for free agency, with several big names testing the market. The Delle Stars, Deerborn White Sox, Roland Stags, and Platte Bears are among the teams being hardest hit by the free agent migration. This off-season will be very important for the continued success of these clubs.

Next season will see the implementation of UUBO realignment. Today, the UUBO released the UA divisions for the 1934 season. Divisions will be realigned each season based on the results of the previous year. Beginning in 1935, the National Cup winner will move from the NPL to the UA, and the team with the UA’s worst record will be relegated to the NPL for the following season.

We’ll have to wait until spring for the new season, but here’s an early look at the 1934 UA Division Alignments:

Division A

  • Delle Stars
  • Railey Rivals
  • Lia Kompos Miners
  • Plains City Reapers

Division B

  • Roland Stags
  • Prissley Trail Blazers

Division C
