Lia Kompos Pumas QB John Parva returned from an early bye week with a gem. He was 21/38 for 388 yds and 5 TDs, tying the single-game passing TD record set last week by Elderwood’s Jerry Pettis. The Pumas beat the Cragsmen, 55-41.

Northsouth Athletics DE Blaine Bradley had 2 sacks on 5 total tackles, including a strip sack of Taawa QB James De La Cruz on the third play of the game. Bradley recovered the fumble and set up a quick Athletics TD, but the Jackals went on to upset the Athletics, 25-22.
Uplantic Football streams and VODs are still on hiatus while we deal with an internet connection issue here in the Earth realm. We will continue to update the blog on Monday and Thursday in the meantime.

The Lydon family has been held captive for 19 days. The Uplantic Bureau of Crime revealed on Saturday that they are following a new lead, casting doubt on their original belief that the “Back to Light” terror group was holding the family somewhere in rural southern Harmony. The UBC continues to be secretive about their investigation, but the spokesperson did state that they believe this new lead to be promising. Giles Lydon, one of the founders of the Uplantic Professional Football Federation and father of the kidnapped Trevor Lydon, remains at an undisclosed location under the protection of UBC agents.
The UPFF continued play in Week 3 in empty stadiums and with no radio or Crystalline Casting coverage, fearing repercussions from the kidnappers, who have demanded the disbandment of the Salvation Brothers team and cessation of football broadcasts. The Brothers have not disbanded, but the league has ceased its live broadcasts.
This week featured a few big match-ups.
In the Game of the Week, the Jackals took on the Athletics in Northsouth on Thursday night, coming through with a huge 25-22 win to hold onto second place in the Southern Conference.
The Salvation Brothers met the crosstown rival Tiny Sea Titans for the first time in the Regular Season. The Brothers offense finally got into the end zone, but the Titans prevailed at home in the Coliseum, 35-31. They’ll meet again in Week 12 on the Brothers’ home turf.
The Plains City Travelers hosted the Delle Chaparrals coming off their bye week. QB Hubert Aguirre played well for the Chaps, but QB Phillip Marinna’a and the Travelers run game were too much for Delle, who fell to 1-2. The Travelers, meanwhile, take over first place in the Northern Conference with losses by the Athletics and the Archers.
Monday night’s game between the Elderwood Archers and the Green Rock Warriors was an instant classic. After jumping out to a shocking 21-0 lead, the Warriors slowly let the Archers back into the game. Elderwood tied things up with a 19-yard Robert Vang chip shot field goal with 1:36 to go, but Warriors RB Timothy Nualitea’a broke off a 47-yard TD run to give Green Rock a 38-31 upset win!

Week 3 Scores:

News:
- Platte Cragsmen starting QB Alvin Crane returned to the lineup after missing the first two weeks of the season with migraine headaches. Crane was phenomenal, going 23 for 43 with 392 yds and 4 TDs despite several injuries to his receivers, but QB John Parva was a little better, winning Offensive Player of the Week and handing the Cragsmen their 3rd straight loss. Final: LK 55, PLA 41
- Lia Kompos Pumas SS Fabian Konzales had a tremendous game in the Pumas’ win over Platte. He had 8 tackles, forced and recovered a fumble, and did it all with a bruised jaw. He is probable for next week’s game against Green Rock. Pumas DE Julio Eskobeda, however, is suffering from turf toe and will be out for 1-2 weeks.
- Elderwood Archers standout C Hobert Alarkon is expected to return from a sprained knee for his first Regular Season game in Week 4 against the Brothers.
- Green Rock Warriors SS Monroe Smith is expected back from a strained hamstring that has kept him out the first three weeks. He will be crucial for the Warriors as they aim to keep their momentum with games against two tough offenses in Lia Kompos and Taawa.
- Delle Chaparrals WR Brian Chavekas missed this week’s game in Plains City with post-concussion symptoms. He could be out for another week or two.
- The Northsouth Athletics continue to struggle with injuries going into Week 4. WR Ilias Larue was absent from the game against the Jackals with a dislocated shoulder, but he is listed as “probable” for Week 4 against Platte. A’s starting QB Branden Warren is listed as “questionable.” RB Anthony Gasporra will be out another 1-2 weeks with a broken collarbone.
- The Plains City Travelers running game could get even better next week with G Waylon Anela expected to return to the lineup.
- The Cragsmen came close this week against the Pumas, and they are still dealing with a number of injuries, but they need to get things together quickly to salvage their season. SS Alan Vina played with broken ribs against the Pumas, and while he made 4 tackles, he was clearly not 100%. He is probable again next week for Platte’s game at Northsouth. The Cragsmen receiving core is being hit the hardest. WR Apari Najela is expected to return after missing two weeks with a wrist sprain, but WR Richard Apodaka is still questionable after fracturing his eye socket in Week 1 against Tiny Sea, WR John Skogv is doubtful in Week 4 with a bruised hip, and WR Dorian Sandberg is out 1-2 weeks after leaving Sunday’s game with a sprained wrist.
- The Salvation Brothers defense could be without LBs Wilfred Morris (sprained ankle) and Louis Nugent (jammed toe) against the Archers in Week 4. Both are questionable.
