1932 WCF Game 1

The Delle Stars came into the WCF riding high after their reverse sweep of the Platte Bears in the SemiFinal, but the Deerborn White Sox shut them out in Game 1 at Kostinsky Park, 7-0.
The Stars put ace RH SP Ron Rivera on the mound against Deerborn’s RH SP Mathew Huertata. Huertata pitched very well, striking out 7 batters over 8 scoreless innings. Rivera didn’t do so well for Delle, giving up 6 runs over 5.2 innings in the loss, including a 5-run 6th inning when things really fell apart for the Stars.
White Sox 1B Bob Hove hit his first home run of the series as part of the rally in the 6th, a 3-run bomb off of Rivera.
1932 WCF Game 2 | DEE leads 1-0

The White Sox took an early lead in Game 2 on an RBI single by 1B Bob Hove in the bottom the 1st inning, but the Stars tied things up in the 2nd inning on a solo home run by CF Carlos Teakowa.
The score remained locked at 1-1 until the bottom of the 7th inning, when Stars LHP Manny Rokodriguez came into the game with the bases loaded and walked PH Jerry Marquez to give the White Sox the lead. Rokodriguez then gave up a bases-clearing triple to LF Juan Tumaini to make it 5-1, Deerborn.
Delle came back to dramatically tie the game in the top of the 9th with a solo home run from RF Antonio Teakowa followed by a walk to 2B Bobby Moyle, a double by 3B Mario Olivo, and 3-run home run from 1B Pedro Bausi.
Delle’s comeback was short-lived however, as White Sox C Luka Joubert belted a pitch from RHP Amin Roux 392 feet over the wall in left field to walk it off for Deerborn in the 10th with a 6-5 final score.
1932 WCF Game 3 | DEE leads 2-0

The series shifted to Stars Ballpark for Game 3. Again, the teams traded single runs early, with an RBI single in the 2nd inning from Deerborn SS Gabriel Hernankez, followed by yet another home run from Stars RF Antonio Teakowa in the 3rd.
The score remained tied at 1 all the way through 9 innings. Both starters performed admirably. White Sox RH SP Roberto Tokorres went 7 innings with 3 hits, 1 run, and 8 Ks. Stars RHP Jeff Rogers went 6.1 innings with 5 hits, 1 run, and 8 Ks as well.
The Stars earned a walk-off of their own in the bottom of the 10th when pinch-hitter Eric Jackson scored from third base on a ground ball from LF Jose Najera.
1932 WCF Game 4 | DEE leads 2-1

White Sox 1B Bob Hove started the scoring in Game 4 with a 2-run bomb in the top of the 1st inning. Stars 3B Mario Olivo brought Antonio Teakowa home with a double in the bottom of the 1st to make it 2-1.
Stars C Jon Garcika tied the game with a solo homer in the bottom of the 4th. Mario Olivo got his 2nd RBI of the day with a solo shot in the 5th to give the Stars a 3-2 lead. Later that inning, Jon Garcika got his 2nd RBI of the game with a single to score Pedro Bausi from second base. Stars SS Gary Allaire kept the pedal down with an RBI single of his own to make the score 5-2 Stars after 5 innings.
The mood soured for the home crowd in the 8th inning with RH RP Amin Roux came into the game, having given up the walk-off HR to Joubert in Game 2. Roux had a disastrous inning, beginning with a Juan Tumaini triple and an RBI single from Bob Hove. A double by CF Jimmy Lia Morro later scored Hove from second to make the score 5-4. After an intentional walk to C Luka Joubert to load the bases, SS Dan Cook knocked in 2 more runs with a single to give the Sox the lead, 6-5. PH Jerry Marquez then came up and knocked in 2 more with a double, then took third base on the throw to the plate. 2B Luke Lia Puedris brought Marquez home with an RBI sacrifice fly, finally earning Roux his first out of the inning after allowing 7 runs in an absolute meltdown. After 7 1/2 innings, the White Sox led the Stars, 10-5.
After the 8th inning meltdown, the Stars went on to lose game and found themselves behind three games to one. Once again, they would have to win three straight games in order to win the series, just like in the SemiFinal against Platte.
1932 WCF Game 5 | DEE leads 3-1

The teams traveled back to Deerborn for Game 5 with the White Sox on the cusp pf winning their second Windsor Cup, a must-win to stay alive for Delle. Game 1 starters Ron Rivera (DEL) and Mathew Huertata (DEE) got the nod again.
The Stars started the scoring early in the top of the 1st when LF T.J. Harrison brought home 2 runs with a double. RF Antonio Teakowa smacked a double in the 2nd inning to bring home Gary Allaire and the Stars had a 3-0 lead. Teakowa added another run to the lead in the 7th with a solo blast off of Huertata.
RH SP Ron Rivera made up for his shaky Game 1 start with a scoreless 7-inning performance featuring 7 Ks and only 4 hits to help secure the win and keep the Stars alive for Game 6.
1932 WCF Game 6 | DEE leads 3-2

The series moved back to Delle for one final Stars home game, and the Stars Ballpark crowd was on their feet and rowdy for the entire contest.
The White Sox scored first with an RBI double from LF Juan Tumaini in the 3rd, followed by a 2-run blast from CF Jimmy Lia Morro in the 4th to make it 3-0, Deerborn.
A 3-run deficit didn’t deter the hometown audience, who stayed loud and supportive until the bottom of the 6th, when Star 3B Mario Olivo hit a single to bring home RF Antonio Teakowa after his lead-off triple. The crowd got even louder when the next batter, 1B Pedro Bausi, launched a 2-run home run to left field to tie the game at 3.
Mario Olivo did it again in the bottom of the 7th when he came up with the bases loaded against Deerborn starter Jorge Takato. Olivo smacked another single, this time scoring 2 runs to give the Stars a 5-3 lead. CF Carlos Teakowa led of the bottom of the 8th with a solo home run to extend Delle’s lead to 6-3. LHP David Rogers and RHP Amin Roux closed out the game and the Stars celebrated with their fans before traveling back to Deerborn for Game 7.
1932 WCF Game 7 | Series ted 3-3

The Stars and White Sox faced off in a decisive Game 7. The Stars hoped to win their second straight championship in the memory of their fallen former teammate, Yassine Joseph. Meanwhile, the White Sox hoped to be the first team to win their second Windsor Cup overall and avoid losing in the Finals for a third straight season.
The game unfolded slowly, with starting pitchers LHP Jeffrey Irvin (DEL) and RHP Roberto Tokorres (DEE) both performing well through the early innings. In the top of the 5th, Irvin helped himself with a 2-out single, then RF Antonio Teakowa was walked by Tokorres. 2B Bobby Moyle then smacked a line drive home run to left field to give the Stars a 3-0 lead.
In the top of the 6th, LF T.J. Harrison added to the lead with a triple to bring home 1B Pedro Bausi, making the score 4-0, Delle.
Jeffrey Irvin pitched masterfully for the Stars, going 6 innings, holding the White Sox scoreless, and allowing only 2 hits while striking out 5 batters. RHP Jose Luna struck out 3 in relief, and LH CP David Rogers closed out the game with 4 Ks over 1.2 innings.
The Stars are 1932 Windsor Cup Champions! They’ve won the Cup for the second straight season, the first team ever to win it twice! They did it by coming back with three straight wins for two straight post-season series, a truly legendary run.
Windsor Cup Finals MVP – Delle Stars RF Antonio Teakowa

Antonio Teakowa is the 1932 Windsor Cup Finals MVP. He adds the award to his haul this post-season after winning the 1932 SemiFinal MVP as well. Teakowa had 3 home runs and 4 RBI in the Finals, bringing his playoff totals to 8 HR and 12 RBI.
