1932 SFS Game 1

The Bears had home field advantage in the series. They took a 5-1 Game 1 win at Craterview Park, in which RHP Adam Evans and the Bears bullpen held the Stars to just 1 run on 4 hits. Evans pitched 7 scoreless innings and struck out 11, allowing just 2 hits.
Platte 1B Dave Phillips had a great game, 2 for 4 with a home run and 4 RBI.
2B Bobby Moyle was a lone bright spot for the Stars. He had 3 of the team’s 4 hits.
1932 SFS Game 2 | PLA leads 1-0

Game 2 featured a pitching match-up between Delle’s RHP Ron Rivera and Platte’s LHP Craig Ogg. Ogg came out on top with a 7 inning performance, holding Delle scoreless on 3 hits and striking out 9 batters as the Bears won Game 2, 2-0.
3B Juan Tokorres needed to turn it on for playoffs, and he has. He’s hitting .429 in the series, 1 for 3 with a home run today. 2B Tim Rogers also hit his first home run of the series. The Bears only had 3 hits as a team, but it got the job done in Game 2.
1932 SFS Game 3 | PLA leads 2-0

The series moved back to Stars Ballpark in Delle with the Stars on the ropes, down 2 games to 0 in the best-of-5 series. They needed a win and they won big, by a final of 8-2.
The Delle Stars, however, received a tough injury blow with everyday LF Norm Hester already missing, as CF Alex Terawaa left the game with a strained oblique. He is unlikely to return to the Stars’ lineup.
Pedro Bausi hit his first home run of the series, a 2-run blast in the bottom of the 1st inning. The Stars never looked back with A. Teakowa, Moyle, Allaire, and Jackson each contributing with RBI in the win.
1932 SFS Game 4 | PLA leads 2-1

The Delle Stars needed another win to even up the series and send it back to Platte for Game 5.
Game 4 was electric from the beginning with Platte 1B Dave Phillips and Delle RF Antonio Teakowa trading solo home runs in the first. The game became a heavyweight bout with the Stars and Bears trading runs in the first 3 innings.
Thanks in part to a staggering 3 home runs from RF Antonio Teakowa through the first 4 innings, the Stars had a 6-4 lead as the game began to calm down. Antonio Teakowa stepped into the box again in the 7th with Eric Jackson on first base and crushed a 2-run bomb to right field for his record-setting 4th home run of the game! Teakowa is the first player to ever hit 4 HR in a single game, and he did it in the playoffs with his team facing elimination.
Two batters later, PH Roy Evans hit another 2-run homer to make the score 10-4, Stars. The Bears got home runs from C Eloi Rousset and LF Stan Davis in the 8th and 9th, but the Stars held on to win it by a final score of 10-7.
Game 4 was an instant classic!
1932 SFS Game 5 | Series tied 2-2

The series shifted back to Platte after each team won two home games. Delle RF Antonio Teakowa was riding high from a 4-HR Game 4 coming into the decisive game of the series, and on the second pitch of Game 5, he did it again, going deep to right field to give the Stars a quick 1-0 lead.
1931 UA MVP and this year’s batting champion, Stars 3B Mario Olivo, hit a solo blast in the 3rd inning to make it 2-0. A sacrifice fly from LF T.J. Harrison and an RBI single from C Jon Garcika in the 5th made the score 4-0, Delle. In the 6th inning, Mario Olivo did some more damage with a 2-run triple to make it 6-0.
The Bears got a run on a solo shot from 2B Tim Rogers off of RHP John Munson in the 7th, but the Stars managed to shut down Platte’s lineup overall, with the Delle staff combining for 1 run on 4 hits with 11 Ks.

The Stars are feeling the momentum as they pull of a reverse sweep and head to their second straight Windsor Cup Finals, where they will face the Deerborn White Sox in a rematch of last year’s Finals. Who will become the first team to win their second Windsor Cup?
