The UA’s second half is in full swing this week with a big 3-game series between the Bears and Guardians for the top spot in the West.

An exciting race continues in the NPL as the season reaches its halfway point.

Unsurprisingly, Roland Stags LF Jose Lia Tinta wins UA Batter of the Month for July. The slugger hit .386 with 12 home runs, 25 RBI, and 24 runs scored during the month. Lia Tinta is currently setting his sights on a potential triple crown, near the top of the leaderboard in batting average, HR, and RBI. (8/1)
The Northsouth Guardians came out on top in the race to sign RP Raul Babechi in the off-season, and he served his new team well in the month of July, winning UA Pitcher of the Month. In July, he went 4-0 in 21.1 innings with 25 Ks and an impressive 0.42 ERA. (8/1)
Roland Stags starter Lynn Johnston is July’s UA Rookie of the Month. He made 4 starts in July, loghging 27.1 innings, 21 Ks and a 21.96 ERA. (8/1)
Railey Rivals RH SP Michael Mercer throws a 1-hitter! The Railey starter goes the distance against the Redwood Owls, hurling a 9-inning, 1-hit gem in the Rivals’ 8-0 win. (8/2)

Carver Canaries LH CL Arturo Buyoya is out for the year. He will require reconstructive surgery on his elbow ligament and will miss 13 months. If his career continues after this injury, we will likely not see him take the field until 1934. (8/5)
Canaries RH RP Tanner Durakotos has a “dead arm.” He is expected to miss 1-2 weeks. (8/7)
