Weekly Report: July 20, 1931

Stars slugger Antonio Teakowa broke the record for most RBI in a single game as part of an outstanding week at the plate.

The Bears and Guardians continued to battle for the top spot in the UA West. The White Sox showed slight signs of vulnerability with the Stags and Stars hot on their tracks for the number one spot in the UA East.

The Brothers are hanging around in the standings despite missing several of their starting pitchers, and it looks like more bad news may be on the way. Still, if they can keep within striking distance late into the year, they could keep their streak alive as the only UA team to make the playoffs every season.

The 4th UA All-Star Game is tomorrow at Kostinsky Park in Deerborn! All-Star rosters were announced yesterday. James Beach of the Guardians will start on the mound for the UA West squad, with the White Sox’ Mathew Huertata getting the start on his home turf for the UA East team.

It’s a perfect time for the All-Star break to give Takato a chance to heal up, as White Sox fans hope he can be part of a historic run for the Sox this season.
