Uplantic Association Spring Training is once again underway! Teams have gathered in Amblint to play exhibition games and hone their rosters ahead of the 1931 Regular Season, which gets going in June.
The Taawa Chargers unveiled a new logo and uniform set on New Year’s Day. The new look adds turquoise to their red and black color scheme, invoking the local jewelry styles of northern Kandelria as well as Sapfoot Stadium’s famous desert sky and mountain backdrop.
“We wanted to connect back to our roots with the turquoise,” said Chargers owner Micah Thurman, who worked closely with the team art department on the new designs. “The new uniforms make us stand out a little from the crowd, I think. The whole thing is part of the Chargers’ new team mindset, looking forward to a bright future of baseball in Kandelria.”
An anonymous Taawa fan present at the team’s unveiling press conference was quoted: “It seemed like an awfully fancy way to say ‘We’re still not gonna be any good this year.’ I think the new jerseys are neat, though.”

- The Rivals pick up reliever Emery Jackson from the Reapers in a cross-league trade. Jackson led the NPL with 20 saves in 1930. The Reapers receive 23-year old 1B Michael McKinley in the deal. (12/2)

- The Owls send starting CF Carlos Teakowa and OF prospect Jorge Suarekaz to Delle in exchange for 22-year old RHP Rafael Itaawa. Carlos Teawkowa joins namesake and current Stars standout Antonio Tewakowa in the Delle outfield. The two players are not related. Stars GM Len Rek hinted that there might be more dealing between the Stars and Owls in the near future. (1/13)
- RHP Alan Dupond jumps to the UA from Trimble. The 33-year old reliever signs a 1-year deal with Northsouth after a tremendous 1930 season with the Toppers. (1/16)
- The Kings land another big name from a rebuilding UA team, this time signing 34-year old LF Carlos Kayra in a trade with Railey. The Rivals get 32-year old CF Alex Terawaa and 22-year old prospect OF Dan Obataiye in the swap. (2/12)
- Taawa continues to rework its roster, this time sending left-handed CF Jimmy Lia Morro to the White Sox for a handful of prospects. Lia Morro’s 1930 season was the worst of his career, but Deerborn scouts are apparently still high on him. We may see him in a platoon role with righty Jimmy Hamm in CF for the White Sox. (3/5)
- The Owls unload 35-year old RHP Manny Vazquiza to the NPL’s Lakers, along with C prospect Roy Brown. They receive 3B Jason Auger in the deal, who may have a shot at making the starting lineup if his spring goes well. (3/25)
- After a breakout 1930 season in the bullpen for Northsouth, free agent RHP John Petchon is rumored to be headed to Salvation, but no deal has yet been announced. (3/28)
- RHP Jorge Seanez joins the Brothers bullpen after a career season with the Guardians in 1930. (4/4)
- The Brothers add another huge talent to their bullpen, acquiring two-time All-Star RHP Pat Flores from Cherricaw in exchange for prospects. (4/4)
- The Trail Blazers make a solid addition to their bullpen, adding RHP Lass Len from the Miners, where he put up an astounding 0.89 ERA with 57 Ks in 40.2 innings in 1930. The Trail Blazers also receive C Steve Thomas in the deal, while Lia Kompos receives 2B Tony Sellimi and 19-year old C Gurr Len. (4/4)
